Sophomore Options



ABE (Allen, Brewster, Ely)



Built: 1931
Renovated: 1991
# of Floors: 3
Carpet: No
Air Conditioning: No
Room Set-Up: Doubles, some singles available
Bathrooms: Communal
CA’s: One per building
Floorplans: Allen | Brewster | Ely
Pros: Close to Eickhoff Dining, Library
Cons: Currently next to library construction (should be done by fall though)



Decker

Built: 1962
Renovated: 1992
# of Floors: 6
Carpet: No
Air Conditioning: No
Room Set-Up: Suite Style, Mostly 2 doubles to a bathroom
Bathrooms: One per Suite
CA’s: One per floor

Pros: It's a party. Always.
Cons: Fire alarms. LOTS of fire alarms.



NewRes (New Residence Hall)



Built: 1985
# of Floors: 3
Carpet: Yes
Air Conditioning: Yes
Room Set-Up: Doubles
Bathrooms: One per room
CA’s: One per floor
Floorplans: Click Here
Pros: Close to Eickhoff Dining Hall.
Cons: Air conditioning sometimes leaks. Mold has been a problem in some rooms this year.



Centennial

Room Set-Up: Doubles
Bathrooms: Communal
CA’s: One per floor

Pros: Larger rooms than a lot of buildings.
Cons: Currently buried behind construction (should be done by fall)



Norsworthy

Room Set-Up: Doubles

Townhouses

# of Floors: 3 each, 1st floor has Lounge, HA and their house mate, 2nd and 3rd have 4 singles each
Carpet: Yes
Air Conditioning: Yes
Room Set-Up: 4 singles per floor
Bathrooms: One per floor
HA’s: One per house
Floorplans: West | East | South | Rooms within the Houses
Pros: No hall security to worry about, it's 24 hour swipe access.
Cons: Walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on in the bed next door...



Eickhoff



Built: 1992
# of Floors: 3 (only 2nd and 3rd are Residential)
Carpet: Yes
Air Conditioning: Yes
Room Set-Up: Doubles
Bathrooms: One per Room
CA’s: Two per floor
Floorplans: Click Here
Pros: Dining hall is VERY easily accessed.
Cons: Inner rooms have no windows to outside.



Country Club Apartments

# of Floors: 2
Includes: Double and single bedrooms, living room, kitchen/dining area, bathrooms
Room Set-Up: 4-6 per apartment
Bathrooms: 1 ½ - 2 per apartment

Pros: No meal plan.
Cons: Must drive to campus.



Transfer Houses

11 houses total, currently all female – 2 will be designated male for the ’05-’06 year
Some allow cars, some don’t
6 to 7 students per house
Double and single bedrooms, living room, kitchen/dining area with two bathrooms
Pros: No meal plan.
Cons: Some don't let you have cars, but are "walking distance".

**Buildings that are not listed often "open up" during sign-ups. For example, Cromwell was not listed as a sophomore option last year, but when other housing filled, half of the 5th floor and the 6th floor were opened for sophomores to sign up. Pay attention for things like this during sign up days!**
